Lionel is one of the founders of the group, D’Kingsman which started back in 2018. He and his team have managed to achieve 1st placing for numeral dance competitions locally and internationally.

Lionel believes that creativity and knowledge should be shared. Lionel hopes that the art of dance is nurtured and cultivated to the youths in Singapore which led him to coach kids since 2018.

Opening new doors, Akif returns home to Singapore after a 2 year long overseas stint as a lead in a film that is set to release later this year.

From sharing the stage with BTS to performing for former South Korean President Mr Moon Jae In and with over 10 years of experience as a choreographer, Akif Halqi now channels his passion and mentors youths as a competition judge and dance coach.

In Secondary School, she was an active participant in her CCA which earned her the title of President, Dance Captain in her final year. During the years within her CCA, she performed in numerous competitions such as SYF and World Supremacy Battlegrounds Singapore. Along with additional performances in charity events and school productions. Before she began teaching at DF Academy, she volunteered to hold dance workshops in her neighbourhood organised by a branch under the Singapore Association of Mental Health: Creative Say where she would teach children. However, due to the uprising COVID-19 events, was unable to do so. In recent years, she has performed in Chingay 2023 after finishing as a finalist in the D:2 Dance Competition.

Gek Kim believes that consistent hard work will reap the most accomplished result and hopes to build an environment where the students are driven to build that determination.

Kristin has been attending classes in DF Academy since she was 10 years old. Last year, she was offered to go through a mentorship under Ashleigh to train as an instructor for kids. Kristin have learnt many things throughout the years under her guidance and has gained more knowledge after assisting her in her classes. She learnt that there are different ways of approach to use to teach kids. Some of them require a gentler way of teaching and some require more attention than others. She has also learnt that it is okay to let loose a little sometimes but it is important to know how to get their focus back. The instructor must know when is the right time to do certain things.

Janelle started dancing Hip-Hop and K-Pop at age 13 under the teachings of DF Director Jacky Lim. Over the years, she had performed at numerous in-school showcases and concerts. Notably, she competed together with GFM Crew and was listed as one of the finalists for the in-school competition DTS 2019. However, she soon grew a more profound love and passion for dance and began exploring other dance styles and doing freestyle for leisure. As a result, she has dabbled in various genres such as waacking, tutting, street jazz, girl’s style, heels, bachata, salsa and ballet. 
Currently, Janelle possesses a Diploma in Early Childhood Development & Education and teaches children as young as 5; and also choreographed a graduation dance for preschool graduands.
She hopes to continue inspiring life-long learning and growth as a person and a dancer.

Ernest harbours a clear passion for dance and demonstrated time and again a desire to improve his skills and broaden his knowledge of the overall dance industry via participating in many dance events in various roles throughout the years.

He had performed in 6 of our past annual concerts, partaking in multiple items each year and is a member of our elites, DF Entertainment crew item. Ernest was also often featured in our Music Videos in DF Entertainment’s Youtube channel and was our featured dancer on our prints and digital medias for years. He was also the only Singaporean shortlisted by Cube Entertainment to be the next potential K-pop idol. He had also performed in several local shows and also in Taiwan.

Aside from the obvious interest he had displayed towards dancing, he had also proven that he is a responsible team player, capable of and willing to shoulder commitment towards his obligations. He was the media producer and also cuemaster for our recent 2019 concerts. Throughout the years, he had never failed to fulfil what he committed to, and has always given his best in trainings and performances, inspiring the people around him to do the same. His outgoing and friendly personality allowed him to communicate well with most people.

Aye Mon started her dance journey in The Dance Family and Raffles Street Dance when she was 17. She went on to expand her Hip-Hop repertoire with the NUS d’Hoppers Dance Crew, and also trained in various genres such as dancehall and funk styles. 

She has choreographed for several recitals and competitions, performed at numerous commercial shows, and emerged as a finalist in local and global competitions. Beyond teaching dance classes, she also trains the DF Entertainment junior crew. 

Aye Mon continuously strives to better herself, and aspires to share the joy of dance with many others.

Shalome started dancing Hip-Hop at age 12 under the guidance of Ashleigh. She then started exploring other genres such as contemporary and modern dance through her CCA in secondary school. Since then, Shalome has competed and performed in various competitions such as SYF, and concerts. 

She finds inspiration in her instructor, Ashleigh, as well as dancers such as Mina Myoung and Nicole Kirkland. Through lessons, Shalome hopes to pass on her love for dance and share good feelings with everyone!

Bella started dancing at the age of 5. At the age of 9, she was exposed to Hip-Hop and continued dancing throughout her Primary and Secondary school years. She then became the president of her secondary school dance CCA and represented her school in a variety of performances and competitions like the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF).

Bella joined DF Academy as a student under Ashleigh due to her love for Hip-Hop and under Ashleigh’s guidance till date, Bella has been building up and improving on her foundation. She has competed internally in DF academy’s competition with her group, QRUSH and was one of the top 5 in the 2019 competition.

Currently, Bella is studying for a dance Diploma at LASALLE to further pursue her interest in dance. She strongly believes that keeping an open mind is what helps a dancer improve and that dance is more than just moving the body, it is a way to express.

At the age of 7, Claire started as a Chinese Dancer in her primary and secondary school. She then ventured into Modern Dance in Junior College. Throughout the years in her CCAs, she has represented her schools in various performances and competitions such as the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF).

Claire joined DF Academy as a student under Ashleigh at the start of 2018 due to her interest in K-Pop. Under Ashleigh’s mentorship, Claire earned multiple internal school competitions. For instance, her group, ASHPLICIT, were the champions of DFAcademy’s 2019 Competition.

Claire strongly believes that a positive learning attitude and confidence in oneself are essential to becoming a good dancer.
